Use Your HSA or FSA for Public Speaking Anxiety & Phobia Coaching
Â
Did you know you can use your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to pay for coaching that uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) methods?
The IRS (Publication 502) recognizes CBT as a qualified medical expense when it’s recommended for a diagnosed condition such as anxiety, phobia, or panic. That means your investment in overcoming public speaking fear can be reimbursable with pre-tax dollars — making it easier and more affordable to get the help you need.
Â
✅ To date 100% of clients who submitted with a doctor’s note were successfully reimbursed by their HSA/FSA provider.
✅ Fast & easy — no medical codes required by most major HSA/FSA providers. Just a doctor’s signature on the PDF we give you.

Â
Why This Works
The IRS (Publication 502) allows HSA/FSA funds to be used for services recommended by a licensed provider to treat a medical condition (like public speaking anxiety, general anxiety, speaking phobia (glossophobia), or panic attacks). With a simple Letter of Medical Necessity, your purchase can qualify.
This means you don’t have to let price for my course or private coaching practice hold you back - you may already have the funds waiting for you.
Two Ways to Use HSA/FSA
Option 1: Pay Directly with Your HSA/FSA Card
Some clients enter their HSA/FSA debit card at checkout, and it processes just like any other payment method.
Option 2: Pay Normally, Then Quickly Reimburse Yourself
Simply use your regular card (credit, debit, PayPal, Apple Pay, etc.). Then, submit the receipt + Letter of Medical Necessity to your HSA/FSA provider for reimbursement.
Most clients prefer Option 2 because it’s fastest and guaranteed.

FAQs
Â
Q: Can I use my HSA/FSA to pay for this program?
A: Yes. Many clients successfully use their Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) with a doctor’s Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN).
If your HSA/FSA card doesn’t process at checkout, you can pay normally and submit your receipt + LMN for reimbursement
The IRS (Publication 502) recognizes CBT as a qualified medical expense when it’s recommended for a diagnosed condition such as anxiety, phobia, or panic. Â
Q: Will my employer know if I use my HSA/FSA to pay for this program?
A:  No - your HSA/FSA transactions are completely private. Your employer does not see what you spend your funds on. Purchases are processed securely through your HSA/FSA account, just like any other qualified health expense, your information is protected under financial privacy laws (like the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act) and the company’s own confidentiality rules.
Â
Â
Q: Can you contact my doctor for me to get the Letter of Medical Necessity?
Â
A: I cannot talk to your doctor on your behalf. But the great news is, you don’t need me to! The process is super simple: just download the one-page Letter of Medical Necessity, send or hand it to your doctor, and you’re done!
All the clients who’ve tried this have told me how easy it was - way easier than they expected.
Â
Â
Q: Are special codes needed?Â
✅ Almost never. HSAs/FSAs are not like insurance — the Big 4 providers (Optum, HealthEquity, Fidelity, HSA Bank) don’t require a medical code. Just a simple doctor’s signature on the PDF we provide, and to date 100% of clients who submitted were reimbursed.
Â
Q: Are there spending limits?Â
✅ No Sprending Limits! As long as you have the funds in your FSA/HSA... you are covered for all spending receipts related to note for up to 12 months after doctor signature. Just hold on to receipts!
